Application Process
CVPNS is currently accepting applications for the 2017/2018 school year. We are currently full for the 2016/2017 school year, but we are accepting applications from families who would like to be placed on our waitlist. If another family withdraws mid-year, the families on the waitlist would be contacted.

Priority Registration Requirements: Alumni applicants are given priority until April 1st for the next school year.  Any alumni on the tentative roster as of this date will be admitted to the class, regardless of application date.  After April 1st, applicants will be accepted based strictly on their date of application.  Because most students from the AM class continue to the afternoon (PM) class the following year, applications from four-year olds are placed on a waiting list.  Those on the waiting list can expect to be contacted regarding enrollenment for the next school year year starting in May.

Age Requirements: In order to attend the AM class, children must turn three on or before December 2nd.  In order to attend the PM class, children must turn four on or before September 1st.

Mid-year Enrollment: Space permitting, and at the discretion of the Director, alumni members whose children turn 3 by Janurary 31st  may be admitted to the AM class.

Tuition: As of Fall 2016, tuition is $215 per month. This amount may be subject to change, so please call for current pricing.

Scholarships: Scholarships are available from the school and are provided in on a limited basis given the needs of the family.  Please contact the Membership VP for details:

Class Times/Duration: Each class (AM/PM) runs Monday – Friday. The AM class is 9:00 am – 11:30 and the PM class 12:30 – 3:00 pm.

Adult School Education Requirements

Parents who join CVPNS enroll in a non-credit unit bearing parent education class at the Castro Valley Adult School.  The laboratory work is done at the preschool. All adult members must be fingerprinted ($47 non refundable fee) and cleared before working in the classroom, submit to a background check (Megan's Law) as well as show proof of a current negative TB test before acceptance into the school. Parents are also required to complete an ASQ & ASQ:SE for their child prior to enrollment for Fall 2016.

Potty Training

Children should be in the process of training, making attemps to use the toilet or be aware of the process so the school and Parent can be in parnership in helping with their toileting needs.  Often, seeing other children going to the toilet will motivate potty-training.  The Director is the only person who is authorized to change diapers
