Spring Into…Spring!

Now that we have officially sprung forward,  and are (hopefully) adjusting to the increased evening daylight hours, it’s time to see all that spring has to offer! The CVPNS community has a lot planned in the coming months for our preschool students.  A few upcoming events include:

– Science Night: Taking advantage of the later sunset, CVPNS is hosting its first Science Night of the year. The space-themed adventure will help our budding astronomers and future astronauts learn more about outer space via hands on science activities. Science Night offers wonderful, child-centered activities that help students build core STEM skills. Plus, it’s a great way for them to have extra time with other students (and make a bit of a mess doing it).

– Fieldtrip to Fairyland: CVPNS and Fairyland in Oakland share a common history, as they were founded just a few years apart and have both grown to be foundational organizations to their communities. They’re both also a place where kids just love to play! Given these commonalities, it’s no surprise that a field trip to Fairyland is on the agenda for CVPNS students this spring.

– Annual Spring Picnic: It just wouldn’t be spring without the first picnic of the year! Even more exciting for the CVPNS community is that this will be our first event with both our AM (younger) and PM (older) classes together. As a cooperative school, one of our core goals is to build a stronger sense of community. This has been challenging throughout the pandemic, but we continue to look for fun, safe ways to be together and learn from one another. All that, and a visit from the Easter Bunny!

– And More: A few other things we have planned are our beach cleanup day at the San Leandro Marina Park/Shoreline, a silent auction as part of our Parent’s Night Out (as a non-profit, we are always looking for fun and creative ways to help raise money for the school), a fundraiser at the Lake Chabot Marketplace and so much more.

As you can see, there are so many fun and exciting events planned with something for everyone. As any of our parents will tell you, being a part of this vibrant, cooperative community provides so many opportunities to learn and grow with your child. As we move into spring, we hope this may have helped inspire you to create some new memories and start to enjoy all that spring has to offer. Have fun out there!
